As a teaching fellow, I independently design and teach courses for groups of about 40 students. Twice I have taught Philosophy of Social Science. My aim in that course is to help students think through philosophical, and especially ethical, issues raised by social scientific research. The course focuses on the role(s) of values in science and implications for “objectivity” as a scientific ideal, as well as the place of social scientific evidence in guiding public policy.In Spring 2022, I am teaching Practical Ethics. My overarching objective for the course is to help students to have more productive conversations about complex ethical issues that they are likely to face in their own lives: How much, if any, of your income should you give to charity? What, if anything, should you be doing about climate change? Is it wrong to buy from companies with questionable business practices?

At the Positive Emotions and Psychophysiology Lab, we research how positive emotions affect a person's thinking, social behavior, physiology, and health. Over the past few years, I have helped to design and run studies, visualize and analyze the resulting data, and then communicate the findings to academic and popular audiences.

The aim of the Philosophy Outreach Program is to help people in the local community to think more rigorously about the ideas, commitments, and activities that shape their lives. To that end, I host a philosophy discussion group at the Carolina Meadows Retirement Community. We have covered such topics as: the nature of friendship, meaning in life, free speech, and more.

There, I was responsible for assisting students, faculty and researchers in the use of the library's resources. I was also responsible for the maintenance of the library.

Clear Capital is a real estate company that provides services for the financial industry. I first began programming in R while working on their Research and Analytics team. One of my projects was a geospatial analysis of Clear Capital’s service coverage. My analysis helped gain the business of Wells Fargo by providing assurance that Clear Capital had sufficient geographic coverage of the areas where Wells Fargo need service.

I worked directly with the Senator’s State Director to resolve issues of particular relevance to Los Angeles. My research focused on immigration reform and veteran homelessness. The Senator brought my research portfolio on veteran homelessness to her meeting with the Secretary of Veteran's Affairs, where it helped persuade him to dedicate $40 million dollars to veteran housing in West Los Angeles.

At the help desk I was responsible for the management and maintenance of the campus computer lab and tutor center, and provided assistance to a diverse clientele of students in the use of the Learning Center's resources.

As Head Technician, I managed a team of 3-5 lighting and sound technicians in Woodcreek's theatre. Together we were responsible for all the technical aspects of performances and events in that space. I liaised with directors, helped them to articulate their vision for their projects, and then designed, installed and operated the lighting and sound equipment in order to realize these visions.
