Running distributed generation solar and storage sales for NextEra's Central region, covering 19 states including Texas, Illinois, New Mexico and Oregon.

I lead NextEra Distributed Generation's C&I Origination team, managing our relationship with major Fortune 500 customers, brokers and consultants across the US and a range of technologies including onsite solar, storage, EV charging infrastructure, CHP, linear generators, water reclamation and hydrogen.

• Building new team and program to foster innovation and manage pipeline of R&D projects aimed at reducing wildfire risk, improving electric reliability and efficient grid operations

• Oversaw investigation, regulatory and legal response to two most destructive fires in Californian history (2017 North Bay Fires and 2018 Camp Fire)• Stood up investigation unit in PG&E’s Emergency Operations Center, and served as Chief and Deputy Chief during emergency events including the Camp Fire, and PG&E’s first proactive de-energization due to fire risk • Developed and led implementation of new, comprehensive investigatory process for fire ignitions and other major electric incidents• Established new team and directed hiring process to grow team to ten diverse, high-performing employees

• Managing Distribution Resources Plan (DRP) demonstration project testing the competitive solicitation, installation and operation of DERs for grid reliability purposes• Managing renewable microgrid project

• Developed and executed road map for collecting and utilizing different types of Smart Meter data to enhance grid operations and planning

• Led development and implementation of new governance and reporting systems to help Transportation and Real Estate departments manage $300M budget and initiate effort to reduce annual spend by $100M over 4 years• Part of three person team to develop strategy document for front-of-the-meter (utility-scale) energy storage, present to PG&E's CEO and President of Electric, and receive support to move forward with recommendations

• Lead operations and development of biweekly newsletter focused on clean energy finance; in 12 months, grew readership from 1,000 to over 6,000• Produced six feature articles on a range of clean energy finance topics including yieldcos, clean energy bonds and medium-scale solar development• Hosted webinar series co-sponsored by the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) and the Council for Development Finance Authorities (CDFA)

• Worked within the power generation group, focused on hydro facilities; worked closely with project planning, execution, and energy procurement teams• Developed and implemented a tool for valuing PG&E's 67 utility-owned hydro assets and identifying opportunities for improvement• Rolled this tool out to project planning groups for immediate use; identified 4 projects with total NPV of >$200M; developed plan for improving or divesting/decommissioning under-performing units

• Worked within Operations group to optimize processes for onboarding new customers • Identified inefficiencies in existing processes; developed new system for managing relationships with utility companies; delivered roadmap to cut onboarding times by 40% and increase annual revenue by >$4M

• Spearheaded Intercontinental Hotel Group's (IHG) global LEED certification plan, co-authored Green Engage, IHG's sustainability guidelines, and managing rollout in over 1,100 locations globally• Identified opportunity for improved reporting of hotel energy and water usage; created an industry-first tool to assess hotel performance, and managed implementation with IHG’s IT team• Managed four LEED certifications; coordinated with designers and architects to deliver projects on average 15% under budget, including Korea’s first Gold certification• Developed a range of models to deliver improved building energy performance; applied these models in >10 projects to deliver an average of 25% savingsFull time secondment at major financial institution (January 2010 - July 2012):• Delivered ongoing reporting of internal sustainability and energy efficiency program to senior management; exceeded annual cost savings target by >30%• Pioneered strategy to revamp program; liaised directly with team of >40 stakeholders to develop two-year plan; prepared and delivered training, and managed rollout to largest 75 global facilities• Identified deficiencies in operational sustainability policies; co-authored comprehensive update of global standards; honored with USGBC’s inaugural International Leadership award
