As a landscape architect, Michael believes he should be a steward of the environment and aspire through his work to uplift the human spirit. He currently works as a landscape designer at Design Collective in downtown Baltimore and dedicates his time to promoting the values of landscape architecture through his involvement in Maryland ASLA. He received his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture and a minor in Sustainability at the University of Maryland in 2019 and joined Design Collective’s Urban Design and Landscape Architecture Studio following his graduation. Michael has experience in all phases of design including community engagement, design concepts, and construction documentation. During his time at Design Collective, he has collaborated on a variety of projects including community open spaces, public plazas, streetscape transformations, public transit connections, mixed-use and multifamily developments. His technical expertise, strong graphic background, and attention to detail allow him to use cutting-edge software and create 3D visualizations that bring exciting ideas to life.This year, Michael serves the Maryland ASLA Chapter as President and continues in his role on various committees, including Emerging Professionals and Public Awareness. He's excited to lead the chapter into the 126th year of ASLA!When not working in the studio, Michael enjoys hiking with his wife Melissa, exploring new foods and cuisines, and playing piano and guitar.
