Building an international lending business was my third startup - using all the skills and lessons I had from my past experiences, Tando was almost perfect.Having secure £30 million in Debt Financing, I set about building the team and infrastructure required. I successfully launched the business in 3 different international countries, under 3 different regulators and languages in the space of 15 months. I scaled each territory to significant market share, creating established lending products and building sizeable customer bases. I also built out the teams, brand, systems, marketing strategy, lending models, compliance programmes, and operations of the business from scratch. I expanded the business to Czech Republic and took over a failing US Lender to turn it around and expand further.Following the COVID pandemic and corresponding challanges the business was broken up and sold off.

My Second Startup, SmartLabs created price comparison software that disrupted the UK market and quickly achieved significant market share in the credit broking space.Over the first 2 years of the business I built a team of 70, covering customer service, finance, design, development, sales, compliance, culture and strategy.We operated in a number of different spaces, price comparison, credit broking, credit reporting services, lending, database marketing, mobile phones and affiliate marketing. The business continued to grow aggressively leading to my exit in 2017.

Following a Private Equity Buyout I joined the buy side team and board as CMO responsible for customer generation and growth.

In 2010 The Richmond Group was a very exciting place to be. The group was 500 staff strong, across a range of businesses with strong group synergies. The culture, ethos and attitude of the group made it the perfect environment for moving quickly, failing fast and ultimately achieving exceptional growth.This marriage of strong culture and exceptional commercial delivery earned the business a rare combination of acknowledgement in the form of Sunday Time Profit Track awards and Best Companies to Work for - it’s hard to grow quickly, harder still to do it while building a great culture.My role was varied, leading projects and teams in lending, broking, and comparison. Working across a range of business skill sets including B2B, B2C, direct response marketing, software development, sales, process efficiency enhancement and recruitment. I ultimately led the sell side team in the Groups exit of its debt division to Private Equity.

Mpire Financial was created to provide credit broking services to underserved consumers in the personal credit market.Mpire was my first solo business and one that taught me a lot of lessons. I grew the business to 30 staff and more than £1million in sales when I was 20 years old, navigating financial compliance, recruitment, management, sales, product, marketing, office cleaning, company administration, culture, office leases, tax, accounting, but most importantly boom and (ultimately) bust - all before I turned 22.
