Redbank Power Station - responsible for efficiency related projects and biomass feasibility studies

I&C department - managed the DCS Enhancement Contract; Outage Coordinator - for the turbine and boiler upgrades; Boiler Plant Owners Group - held the role of Plant Owner Mills and Fabric Filters

Responsible for the maintenance and registration of all pressure vessels and hazardous piping systems on site, the turbine and generator, balance of plant, materials handling, fire system and overall plant condition monitoring. Contract development and management of engineering specific projects during major plan outages.

I was responsible for the collection of vibration data and oil samples, their analysis and reporting to clients. Equipment monitored included all coal washery rotating machinery and materials handling equipment as well as large mining equipment (Draglines, Rope Shovels, Longwall equipment and Continuous Miners)

Vereeniging Pumping Station - time spent with the maintenance workshop and different operation’s divisions to gain specific maintenance and operations experience. Zuikerbosch Pumping Station – “1992 Scheme”. Commissioning experience on a 1000ML/day extension to the potable water treatment facility at Zuikerbosch. Accepted new plant on behalf of the station.Head Office Design Experience; Acoustic Silencer– Reduce the noise created by roots type blowers. Fire and water services - Design of a 2 km, 350 mm ring main for the fire and water services at a large water treatment facility. Structural steelwork - Design of access steel work to SABS 0162 to access 6 large valve chambers.Head Office Operations Projects: Turbine Overhauls – Turbine major overhauls including re-blading; Pump Overhauls – 200ML/day pumps; Boiler Overhauls – Chain grate boilers; Installation of on-line vibration monitoring system on turbines, gearboxes and pumps; Installation of new cooling water pipe work for booster pumping station.
