Mechanical Engineer
Gaining experience in a wide variety of engineering disciplines and products during three six-month rotations in the Brooks Automation Rotational Engineering Program - In my first rotation with the manufacturing team, worked building and testing highly customized semiconductor manufacturing automation capital equipment in a cleanroom environment. Includes a variety of roles from assembly, wiring, and testing and teaching ultra-high vacuum robotic transfer chamber systems as a build technician to writing build and test procedures for new front-end robotic atmospheric wafer handling systems. Also included design of manufacturing fixtures to improve ease of assembly and testing.- In my second rotation with the sustaining mechanical engineering group, created and modified Bill of Materials for highly configurable and specialized products, wrote engineering changes (ECOs), traveled to customer and supplier sites, integrated CAD/PLM software for design and drawings of new components, and held technical design reviews. - In my third rotation with the vacuum systems new product development group, tasks ranged from long-term new product line development to urgent quick-turn design, testing, and manufacturing to support "line-down" manufacturing issues. Other tasks include reverse engineering, Finite Element Analysis (FEA, Ansys) of structures, laboratory material testing, vacuum chamber design, communications with suppliers and machine shops, and more.
