It was among the first of the recent new wave of craft brewers to open in St. Louis.-The Six Row microbrewery and pub were located in the Old Plant Number 1 building of the old Falstaff Brewing Company. The building is on the historical register and an apt setting for a brewery continuing the proud St. Louis beer tradition.-Six Row brews were the first St. Louis craft beers to be carried by local Anheuser-Busch distributors.-Six Row beers were distributed by eight Missouri and Illinois distributors, and could be found in the St. Louis metropolitan area, Kansas City, central Missouri, southern and eastern Illinois, and Chicago.-Six Row’s flagship beer, Whale®. Whale® is a blend of ten different malt varieties, giving this very drinkable beer the characteristics of both a Wheat and Pale Ale. The name Whale® highlights the hybrid nature of this beer and its wide range of flavors. The pronounced Cascade hop aroma balances the bready softness of wheat and pale ale malt. -Six Row produced an average of ten beer styles, including seasonal selections like Vanilla Porter and Kolsch.
