I joined the Lonon Fire Brigade in 1985 and are approaching 30 years service. I have been promoted three times, the third to Station Officer in 2003. I carried out 5 years of duty as a fire prevention officer in Tower Hamlets covering the period of change from the 1971 FP Act to risk assessment. When Rank changed to roll I became and are currently a Watch Manager B.This is the equivalent of an inspector in the police force. We both run a shift. I ride in charge of two appliance normally but at an inciden may be in charge of up to four plus special appliances (25 personnel in total approx)
