I work in the Guideline Surveillance team in the Centre for Guidelines where my role is to identify if guideline recommendations need updating. My role involves carrying out rapid reviews of new empirical evidence and practitioner expert intelligence and assessing its impact on extant recommendations to see whether they are current and if new practice areas are emerging. I also carry out methodological research into Surveillance Methods. This has included research into approaches to real-time surveillance for the development of 'living' recommendations and frameworks for identifying key priority areas for real-time surveillance within NICE's portfolio of guidelines.
