CurrentAHOY are a watersports based charity (on the Thames) changing people's lives and building life skills through sailing, rowing and our mentoring programme. Our primary objective is giving opportunities for disadvantaged and at-risk youths and we offer opportunities for people with disabilities to participate in activities and courses on an equal level. Our programmes include shipmates, saleability and our apprenticeships. These programmes not only develop life skills, building confidence, leading to greater social inclusion but also lead to many of our beneficiaries going on to full time employment. The majority of funding for AHOY comes from our various rowing challenges, on the Thames, which themselves are organised and supervised safely by our staff, volunteers and beneficiaries. I would welcome anyone who wishes to get involved through volunteering with this very special charity and or individuals or companies who wish to sponsor AHOY via their own rowing challenge or Corporate Partnership.
