This was a supplemental role that I landed at the Burr Ridge facility. I had achieved a large amount of weight loss, as well as reached other fitness goals thanks to the help of the Site HealthTracks Coordinator and the plans that we had set forth for me to try and reach those goals. By working with HealthTracks and reaching those goals, I was asked to become the Site Well Being champion to try and get others to achieve theirs.For many it was weight loss and getting in shape. I encouraged those who wanted to take that path to use the AMP course to help them take steps in getting to where they wanted to be.For others, including myself, there was a goal of energy (stress) management. I used, and encouraged others to use the THRIVE program that helped identify and manage stressors in everyday life.Working with the HealthTracks Coordinator as part of a team and participating in conferences and a convention with coordinators and champions from other sites helped drive improvements and events that would help Burr Ridge associates make changes for a healthier lifestyle.This role may have been supplemental, but it was one of the most enjoyable roles I have had the pleasure of filling. I worked with a friendly, high energy, and very motivated group of associates and contractors to help achieve personal and site-wide fitness goals, and it truly was a pleasure.

Addressed the safety, environmental, and security concerns for the production plant.In this role I was responsible for following up on any safety concern, including the escalation of various reports, providing reviews to Site Leadershhip on those reports, consequences, and actions on both a reactive and proactive level. I maintained consistent communications with the Occupational Therapists and the Regioonal Nurse to update FMLA cases. I worked with the company insurance provider to address areas that could potentially cause injuries and eliminate those risks.I updated site Electrical Safe Work Practices to include recent changes to the practices and codes provided in the NFPA 70E: Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace.I provided safety trainings to all associates on both the awareness and user levels to comply with OSHA standards (including training regarding hazardous chemicals used), as well as provide updates and refresher trainings regarding various issues uncovered at the site. I was responsible for scheduling required Arc Flash training, First Responder training, and hearing tests.I monitored our site's rainwater outfall and waste-water to maintain compliance with the Illinois EPA standards, which included updating our site's Storm Water Waste Prevention Plan and our Spill Prevention and Containment plan to account for a new site emergency generator and its concrete foundation.

Stationed at Naval Nuclear Prototype in Ballston Spa, New York from November 1997 to June 1998. Stationed onboard the USS Dwight D Eisenhower (CVN 69) from July 1998 to October 2002, where I qualified senior-in-rate for an Electrician's Mate Second Class in the nuclear field. As a Nuclear Electrician's Mate, I was responsible for the operation of a ship's electrical power generation systems, lighting systems, electrical equipment and electrical appliances. The duties include installation, operation, adjustment, routine maintenance, inspection, test and repair of electrical equipment. I performed maintenance and repair of related electronic equipment. I also performed duties in nuclear propulsion plants operating reactor control, propulsion and power generation systems. I was qualified the following watch stations, in ascending order of seniority; Log Recorder, Ship's Generator Watch, Throttleman, Electrical Operator, Propulsion Electrician, Shutdown Reactor Operator, and Load Dispatcher. I was also qualified to stand as Control Point Watch for entry into the reactor rooms.
