Works within the Interior Operations Center (IOC) supporting the coordination of emergency operations, including the collection, analysis, and dissemination of watch and warning information, monitoring of operational activities, maintenance of situational awareness to senior leadership, and supporting the coordination of operational activities across bureaus and offices and with other Departments and agencies. Facilitates the tracking of bureaus and office needs, resource availability, and future sources of resources to support efficient emergency activities. Works with various levels of management in the emergency management organization based on the principles established in the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and the Incident Command System (ICS) as a foundation to gather, prepare and communicate critical information during emergencies, including natural and manmade disasters, wildland fires, technological crises, oil spills and hazardous materials incidents and other emergencies.

These advanced care skills include monitoring and maintaining patients on a ventilator and monitoring and administrating advanced medications not normally managed by paramedics, including operating an IV pump. Ensure compliance with COVID-19 patient transport protocols. Track the location of all ambulance personnel and provide deployment guidance to ensure efficient transport activities. Assist with the development of transportation log sheets based on the principles established in the National Incident Management System (NIMS) Incident Command System (ICS) 214 Activity Log format.

Worked as a Sergeant and Lieutenant, directly managed 14 EMS personnel and oversaw an additional 72 EMS staff while providing support to the Carterville Medical Center, including to 14K patients and 2 fire departments annually. Provided EMS transportation program and project management expertise. Oversaw patient transport deployment functions, including validation of deployment criteria and guidelines and tracking EMS personnel to ensure all ambulances were correctly staffed with appropriate, skilled personnel and that all EMS equipment was accounted for and in proper working order. Conducted detailed planning to ensure the adequacy of ambulance coverage to all areas within the county. Realigned personnel and ambulance coverage resources when a large-scale event in one coverage area left another one without adequate coverage.
