Exar is Company that delivers highly differentiated silicon, software, and subsystem solutions for industrial, consumer, and enterprise applications.Recruited to direct both development and test teams through market launch of OEM Linux- and Windows-based primary storage deduplication, compression, encryption, and thin provisioning software products and appliances. Initiated processes to achieve goals and cultivated a trust and teamwork environment with all members of the team. Personally contributed to the software design and development. Collaborated with Product Management to drive product improvements. Rolled out product that was integrated into EMC/Iomega PX series products, endorsed by Microsoft as only depuplication solution for DPM 2010 and promoted by Intel to global customer base as data reduction reference design for Network Attached Storage (NAS).

SENIOR ARCHITECTPRINCIPAL SOFTWARE ENGINEERLeading provider of innovative data protection appliances to mid-range and distributed enterprises.Promoted through series of increasingly challenging roles, culminating in Director of Software engineering with a primary focus on the REO products. Participated directly in building the Software engineering team from ground up to 12-15 software engineers. This included implementing process to support the software development life-cycle. As Director of Software Development and Senior Architect, implemented the product strategy for the REO product line. REO is the premier D2D2T backup and recovery appliance with a field population of over 15,000 units. Additionally, was responsible for translating the product requirements received from product managers, customers and re-sellers into Protection OS, Overland's premier data protection and VTL software offering. As Principal Software Engineer, I successfully let the effort that “productized” Okapi Software technology and transformed it into the Overland Storage REO 2000. Led development of REO 4000 – a next generation iSCSI/FC virtualized RAID backup appliance – by designing and developing the features that successfully won channel partners and end-user customers.

Designed and developed the iSCSI module for the i1000 and i1500 product line. Personally implemented the iSCSI target. Proved the implementation was successful through participation in the industry wide iSCSI plug fests held at the University of New Hampshire.
