Joined a team of 3 to lead the efforts to improve testing quality and release practices at a 60 person startup. Testing was performed using a stack that included: Jira, python, Jenkins, Minio, and a custom test framework built on top of Jenkins, written in Groovy and python and a custom results reporting application. The stack evolved to replace Jenkins with Kubeflow, the custom framework with a collection of python scripts that executed tests and launched test runs in the KF environment, and the reporting application was replaced with Weights And Biases. Testing was done on both the main original product and a new version, both of which ran via Linux command line and generated reports. A turbulent 18 months, reported to Manager, Director and VP level at different times. My responsibilities included managing and executing the QA feature and release testing, including test planning, team direction and testing strategy. Also spent time learning, troubleshooting and enhancing some of the devops scripts that were used to manage test environments and do things like minimizing overuse of Minio.

As the most Senior QA in a small custom software shop, I had the opportunity to work on numerous projects across various industries where both technology choices and testing approaches were tailored to each specific client and project. My overall responsibilities included owning the QA lifecycle, all phases of testing - Regression, Acceptance, API/backend testing, UI testing, automation, manual testing, test planning, test creation and review, and mentoring of junior team members. A fast paced environment in which we worked as an agile team, delivering QA-approved code to the client at regular intervals. Worked with the clients' QA Teams, as the only tester on a project and as a part of 2 to 4 person QA teams, depending on engagement size and needs.Based on a client's and the specific project's needs, we would employ various technologies and approaches to testing. The development team routinely used different technologies: AWS, Azure, JBoss, Docker, Jenkins, cucumber, postman, python, java, Rally, Github, CentOS, Windows, SQL, Oracle, Mongo and others

Tested the server side of a Windows based Client-Server software product. Responsibilities included Manual and Automated testing, test documentation and test case creation and maintenance. Led testing efforts, made assignments, organized the test effort. Developed automated tests for the team and applied others’ tests to my projects. Organized automated runs of tests, including automated environment creation and administering labManager environment. Led manual testing efforts, made assignments, organized the test effort, cooperatively managed automated testing efforts.. Started as a Quality Engineer, promoted to Senior Quality Engineer in 2009 and changed title to Sr. Automation Engineer in 2011.

Tested a web-based e-commerce system called RegNow. Calculated and analyzed quality metrics. Managed the testing process for the product, represented Quality Assurance and end user viewpoint throughout the SDLC. Assigned testing to other team members, mentored and trained new testers and trained developers on release processes. Hired as QA Engineer, promoted to Senior level after a year.

Helped to build houses with volunteers. Led Volunteers in daily tasks, trained and supervised teams of volunteers from all walks of life aged 16 through 80. Maintained tools and equipment and managed supplies and the warehouse. Participated in “blitz builds” yearly.
