Experienced international technology industry veteran, Mike Rhodin, serves as an Independent Director for a number of organizations, ranging from advising startups at the incubation phase, advising venture capital firms, and serving as a board member on private equity backed technology companies. Mike is the Lead Director of Acoustic, as well as an independent board member/committee chair for HZO. Mike also serves on the Board of public companies TomTom, based in Amsterdam, and Openbank/Open Digital Services, a leading digital bank and subsidiary of Santander, based in Madrid, Spain. Mike has recently joined the board of Symbotic, a leading robotic warehouse automation company. In addition, Mike serves as an Advisor to Arboretum Ventures, a healthcare VC firm and Keep LLC, a healthcare startup.During his career, Mike spent 33 years in IBM rising through the business to become a corporate officer and Sr. Vice President. Mike was responsible for the creation of IBM’s Software Solution business including much of it’s Smarter Planet portfolio. After the demonstration of the Watson system on Jeopardy, Mike founded IBM’s Watson business around this ground breaking technology, launching it’s cloud based services and the first industry vertical, Watson Health. Prior to that, Mike led many large scale organizations within IBM, including IBM’s European operations based in Zurich, as well as it’s Collaboration business unit. An established technologist, he ran numerous engineering organizations within the company across office systems, networking systems and the early stages of IBM’s Internet of Things technologies.
