Lixit Corporation is the largest small animal watering device manufacturer in the world. Lixit also manufactures small animal feeding devices and animal care accessories.I designed and engineered innovative and award winning animal care products. I managed sourcing and manufacturing of components and finished goods from domestic and overseas vendors. Experience with plastics (injection and blow molded), with metals (machined, stamped, welded assemblies). Generation of 3D CAD drawings. Design and fabrication of tooling fixtures and components. Additional responsibilities include QA/QC of components manufactured in-house and/or from outside vendors.I kept in-house manufacturing operations running efficiently and safely (usually doing the repair and maintenance of large and small machinery myself). I designed, planned and installed new capital equipment and projects while also managing subcontractors and outside services. Coordinated lighting retrofit for energy savings.As the Safety Officer, I implemented the Safety program, conducted monthly employee safety meetings, trained and certified forklift drivers, tested and maintained fire control system. I ensured the factory met all regulatory compliance requirements (Environmental Management, Fire safety, OSHA, Hazardous Waste, IIPP).Maintained computers, printers, local area network, and telephone system.Trained and certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED (Automatic External Defibrillator).

Streamlined the development process and improved schedules to bring products to market more quickly. I attacked obstacles that could potentially delay delivery of goods to the customer. Directed local and foreign teams of Engineers to on-time and in-budget delivery of products. Worked in partnership with Controller and CFO regarding financing and payments to suppliers/vendors. Traveled regularly to Hong Kong/China to oversee operations with suppliers. Temporarily managed Hong Kong office and assisted in the interviewing and hiring of new Manager.

Interactive Candy is the symbiotic union of a toy and a confectionary that provides fun and amusement long after the candy is consumed. Most notable product is the SpinPop with licensed characters.Performed project management of the complete line of products: engineering design, costing, scheduling, sourcing, manufacturing, and delivery. Directed a team of overseas engineers and worked closely with suppliers, both foreign and domestic, to ensure products are made to specifications. Engineering principles included plastic molding (injection, blow, roto), electronics, mechanisms, confectionary/food. Responsible for hiring and management of Quality Assurance managers to assure safety and reliability requirements are being met. Additionally, advised packaging requirements and directed package design; instrumental in the preparation and presentation of national trade shows.Notable Accomplishments:Directly responsible for up to 75 new products per year.Effectively learned an entirely new field (confectionary/FDA) in a matter of weeks.Reduced average product cost by over 20% for our core product line upon taking control from the previous team.
