Despite 90 student enrollment, the program was discontinued for "lack of funding". I learned a lot about the state of K-12 public education in California.

Joined this board to promote honest lending practices and professionalism in mortgage loan sales. As a member, I concentrated on communications to our membership. We sponsored once a month educational events for mortgage professionals. I left the board when I left the industry, my last position as President, when we earned the California Small Chapter of the Year award for innovation and efficiency.

Recruited to a local mortgage brokerage to manage operations and grow the business. Obtained a California Real Estate salesperson license, recruited and managed new salespeople, revamped the loan processing system, hired accounting support. Split off the in-house mortgage bank as a stand alone entity, helping it develop business with other brokerage houses. This firm was acquired by Firstnet Mortgage, where I continued in the role of business development. During this time I also became active in what is now known as the California Association of Mortgage Professionals, where I served as Chapter President. Company folded during the 2008 Real Estate crash.

Recruited to assist in the growth of a worthwhile nonprofit organization that provides dental care for low and no income families in Santa Cruz County. I this role I recruited a new Executive Director, Development Director, and Operations Director, the latter for which I wrote the job description. Helped the clinic manage transition of several key technical (dental) positions. Provided support for a successful 1.5 million dollar capital campaign to purchase and build out a larger clinic. Assisted in recruiting other board members. Set up the first Executive Committee and designed and spearheaded the review process for the Executive Director.

A full service "HR-on-Demand" company serving companies with 5 - 500 employees. Provided retained search, staffing management, contract HR professionals, organizational development, organizational planning, employee relations interventions, HR operations set up and implementation. In addition to running the company, my personal clients included, Lexar Microsystems (I assisted in their spin out from Cirrus Logic), BusLogic/Mylex corporation (where I was Director of HR and their retained search person from 1992 - 1996), Cobalt Microsystems (Sun), Turbolinux, Atheros Communications, Cybeq Nanotechnology, Semiconductor Systems, Digidesign (Avid), HP's I/O Division, Epigram (acquired by Broadcom), and others. I gained tons of technical marketing insights from working very closely with the Chief Marketing Officers for many of these firms.

Created and managed the talent acquisition strategy which grew Turbolinux from 10 to 200 people in under 2 years.

Maintained a personal practice and managed a team of 11 hardware and software recruiters performing retained search for Silicon Valley companies. Personal clients included NeXT, Momenta, Cypress (Multichip), SCI, NEC, Prometrix, Semiconductor Systems and others.

Recruited to this start up that made transistor packages for high powered RF communications components. Company was acquired by W.R. Grace Corporation, and later sold again to a company in western New Jersey. 75% of the company's population were in manufacturing, peaking at 150 people, and including manufacturing, manufacturing engineering, purchasing, and production control. Won Supplier of the Year at Motorola, competing against Kyocera in San Diego, by implementing MRP and SPC methods. Was recruited to be the General Manager of the business unit for the acquiring company but declined, wishing to stay in the Bay Area, and eventually leave manufacturing.
