Across school, work, and personal projects I have gained a diversity of project experiences with focuses in audio and image processing, full-stack application development, database design and analysis, and most recently, machine learning. I completed an internship with the Air Force Research Laboratory in the junior year of my undergraduate degree, building two data processing applications (in Python) that eased data input and test collection/reporting for larger-scale simulation projects. In my senior year, I proposed and led a project of 5 group members in the rapid development of an original rhythm/platforming game, Chord Story, that used digital signal processing algorithms to analyze user-submitted songs and procedurally generate note obstacles for a player character to avoid. During my final semester, I produced a solo project, ImagEngine, to complete my degree that consisted of a collection of more than a dozen industry-standard image manipulation/transformation/analysis algorithms, made quickly-accessible to researchers through a CLI that assists in file retrieval/storage and viewing intermediate results (written fully in C99). In my graduate degree, I furthered my experience with relational databases with a solo project in which I fully designed and implemented a student class registration database in an Oracle 12 SQL environment. This included steps in eliciting project specifications, constructing formal schema, ER diagrams, normalization routines, database construction and loading, and robust query testing. Further along in my degree, I was exposed to a number of machine learning algorithms and project workflows, namely some (Bayesian classifiers, classification trees, KNN, etc.) pertinent to knowledge discovery in databases. Finally, I gained a healthy amount of experience in project specification and product quality inspection, mainly focusing on projects dealing with designing or critiquing user interfaces/experiences (Software Design Documents, UI/UX Inspections, Usability Test Plans). Now that I have completed my studies for the moment, I have a strong desire to gain full-time employment working for a company with a good ethical base, pursuing technologies that work towards social good.
