Managed US and Malaysia team focused on testing and quality for key products in development to expand Cricut's product line.

Consumer electronics company developing rechargeable lithium battery packs, portable solar panels and LED lighting. Our batteries ranged from small "lipstick" chargers for phones, to large generator style battery packs that could run household appliances.Ownership:*Verification and validation testing for product development *Sustaining Engineering project manager to improve products in production.*Manufacturing quality management - worked closely with up to 8 contract manufacturers in China at any given time. Included numerous trips to coordinate the start of production and help troubleshoot both engineering and manufacturing issues.*Compliance team to ensure that our products were safe and met the needs of distributors and markets.

* Developed a circuit design, PCB layout, and firmware for a board used to automatically cycle battery charging and discharging. The board could function for multiple input and output voltages and currents. While handling the charge/discharge control, the board data-logged essential readings and could communicate and output to a computer for graphing.*Made various external modifications to the boards mentioned above, and rewrote firmware to repurpose my same boards to also act as light sensors to track the runtime of lights being developed.

* RF PROJECT: Mixed-signal circuit design, printed circuit board (PCB) layout in Altium, firmware coding in C, and testing. Silicon labs microcontroller unit (MCU) with serial peripheral interface (SPI) communication to integrated radio transceiver. 240-960 MHz programmable transceiver. Preliminary antenna matching. PCB communicated with computer via RS232 communication. Achieved successful packet transmission up to 200 feet using single AA battery.* PYROELECTRIC INFRARED (PIR) PROJECT: ­ Mixed-signal circuit design, PCB layout in Altium, firmware coding in C, and testing. Silicon labs MCU. Performed signal processing and some image processing. PCB communicated with computer via RS232 communication. Achieved successful human detection up to 40 feet using 2 AA batteries.* PROJECTILE FIRE CONTROL PROJECT: Circuit design, PCB layout in Mentor Graphics, firmware coding in C, and testing. Silicon labs MCU. PCB communicated with computer via RS232 communication. Two ground sensors used as external interrupts to calculate the speed of passing vehicle; air cannon fired at correct time to hit moving target.* OTHER TASKS PERFORMED: ­ PCB soldering; parts research and ordering; system assembly; machining; operation and enhancement of an automated cable testing system; image processing in Octave (Matlab compatible); helped create low-cost camera setup; image quality testing; optics experiments.
