I am the Communications and STEM Manager at the Australian Institute of Nuclear Science and Engineering (AINSE), responsible for leading communications processes and managing AINSE's core events, including the AINSE Winter School, Postgraduate Orientation Week, and Women in STEM and Entrepreneurship (WISE) School.I obtained a Master of Science Communication at the Australian National Centre for the Public Awareness of Science (Australian National University) in 2016. As a Science Communicator, I have:- Authored several articles on popular mathematics for The Conversation and the Australian Academy of Science's Curious (formerly Nova) website;- Spoken on ABC radio and breakfast television on a range of popular mathematical topics;- Coordinated the 2017 ANSTO Big Ideas Forum and all major AINSE events from October 2018 to present,- Developed and delivered the interactive opening presentations at the 2017 Australian Synchrotron Open Day; and- Volunteered at Questacon, the Science and Engineering Challenge, the Newcastle University Mathematics Outreach Program, and the Canberra Mathematics Enrichment Program. I obtained a Ph.D in Mathematics from The University of Newcastle in 2015, specialising in Fractal Geometry. As a former mathematician and tertiary mathematics educator, I have lectured and tutored undergraduate mathematics at The University of Newcastle, the University of Canberra, and the Australian National University. I'm always interested in connecting with people looking to explore opportunities in science communication and education, and with colleagues past and present.
