As Chief Executive I am responsible for the £1 Billion award winning hub South West business. I set all business strategies and manage a team of highly skilled people with a focus on innovation and collaboration. hub South West was set up by the Scottish Government and the local authority, health board and blue light public sector shareholders in 2012 to provide a joined up procurement mechanism to develop and deliver public sector projects across the South West of Scotland more effectively with a focus of creating local jobs, local apprentices and recirculating project spend in the regional economy. Our projects include schools, health centres, social housing, leisure, office, regeneration etc. At Q4 2024 we have delivered 95 individual projects at a value of over £930m and have over £400m in development and construction.

I delivered the first 87 projects [approx £690m] for hub SW as Operations Director and was responsible for all operational functions for the business. At points we had over 30 live projects in excess of £300m on the go at the one time. This gave a fantastic opportunity for me to gain significant knowledge of project and programme delivery across multiple sectors. I managed multiple projects myself and with internal and external resource. Alongside this role i undertook development roles managing multiple projects to financial close.

I focused on the delivery of the initial DBFM (PPP) projects and held an oversight role across all delivery functions. Alongside this role i was active in multiple aspects of development.

My initial role was to successfully deliver the first phase of hub SW projects. In doing so i played a vital role in the start up phase of hub SW and was part of a wider team that essentially set the company up.

I oversaw all aspects of the groups built environment following a period of rapid business growth within the Bridge of Weir Leather Company. I developed and deliverd multiple projects including office accommodation, factories, road infrastructure, treatment plants and power upgrade works.

I worked on a wide range of large scale PPP [Public Private Partnership] projects across the UK covering multiple sectors. I held positions in the bid team, development team, construction team and operations team. I worked on the Camden BSF [Building Schools for the Future] programme in London, West Dunbartonshire Schools programme in Scotland and multiple other projects across the UK and Ireland.
