Mr. Rothans joined Wrap Technologies in September 2017 and served as the Chief Strategy Officer through June 2021. Wrap Technologies is a global public safety technology and services company that delivers modern policing solutions to law enforcement and security personnel. Mr. Rothans developed the strategy to market, sell and promote Wrap’s products worldwide. Prior to his employment at Wrap, Mr. Rothans was a thirty-one year veteran of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department with his last position as Assistant Sheriff overseeing the department’s patrol operations. He was responsible for a nearly one billion dollar budget supervising over 6,000 sworn and civilian personnel. Assistant Sheriff Rothans received many commendations during his career including the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Distinguished Service Award in 1997 and 2010, the Exemplary Service Award in 2001, 2005, and 2009, and, the Meritorious Service Award in 2008. As Chair of the Executive Force Review Committee responsible for reviewing all Officer Involved Shootings and significant uses of force he possesses invaluable knowledge about real world encounters between police and the public.
