About Michael Royce

Michael Royce is the CEO of NYFA, a nationally recognized nonprofit that provides artists and cultural workers with funding, entrepreneurial training, and resources for defining and achieving career success. Working to redirect NYFA towards equitable cultural representation, he has launched sustained initiatives such as the Immigrant Artist Program and the Incubator for Executive Leaders of Color. Under his leadership, NYFA expanded its budget from $1.5 million to $20 million, grew from having a single grants program annually distributing several hundred thousand dollars to now running fifteen funding opportunities for creatives, annually distributing several million, and went from statewide programming to national. Prior to NYFA, he was the President of Moynihan Station Development Corporation, overseeing the fundraising, planning, and federal, state, and city contractual negotiations to create Moynihan Train Hall, which expanded Penn Station into the largest intermodal transportation hub in the northeast. Michael is also a board member of ArtBridge, and has been named by CRAIN’s Business, the Observer, and Politics NY for his leadership.
