Mike Ruane specializes in providing valuation services and financial analysis to clients of all sizes for diverse purposes. These services include business valuations, stock option pricing, intangible asset valuations, purchase price allocations, goodwill impairment analyses, estate and gift tax planning, and monte carlo simulation. He has extensive experience in financial reporting valuation issues related to Accounting Standards Codification (“ASC”) Nos. 350, 360, 718, 805 and 820 (formerly SFAS Nos. 142, 144, 123r, 141r and 157, respectively.)Mike has experience valuing businesses in many industries, including high technology and internet, software development, semiconductor, biotech, publishing, and healthcare, to name a few. Mike also spent over 5 years with a Big 4 Accounting firm specializing in Valuation Services working in both their San Francisco/San Jose and Chicago offices. Mr. Ruane also worked for a Chicago based medical device sterilizer/food products manufacturer, providing general corporate planning duties at both the Corporate and Business Unit levels. Mike earned his B.B.A. and M.B.A. degrees in Finance from Loyola University of Chicago. He is an Accredited Senior Appraiser of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA), a member of the Fair Value Forum and member of ASA’s Board of Examiners.
