We all need somebody to lean on

Camp Bluff Lake was a branch of the Pasadena Family YMCA. Sadly, the Pasadena Family YMCA folded and Camp Bluff Lake was sold to a nature conservancy group. The camp's setting is gorgeous - completely surrounded by national forest. The summer I directed the camp scenes for the movie Beethoven's 3rd were filmed there. In the camp's past several other movies filmed scenes at Bluff including both Parent Trap movies.

Boys Camp PD, 1982; Girls Camp Assistant PD, 1982; Summer Camp PD, 1983 & 1984; Full-time PD; 1985-90; Associate Director, 1991-96.Direct oversight of all camp programs including resident camp, day camp, teen leadership development, retreat services, school-year programs and special events; Created and developed adventure camping program for teens; Developed day camp for 7-12 year olds; Created and organized fundraisers to increase funds for camp scholarships, build a new boathouse, upgrade craft shop and protect shoreline; Teamed with camp staff, board members and volunteers on strategic planning initiative and led program design team; Initiated development of camp’s website – second YMCA camp in the U.S. to be on the Web.
