My name is Michael Rushton and I have worked in the oil and gas industry for some 35 years. I call Calgary home and have for the last 15 years or so. I have spent approximately 40% of my career in the oil and gas service sector and the balance working for E&P companies. On an aggregate basis I have spent about 40% of my time to date focusing on drilling operations/production and 60% focusing on completions. During my career I have worked in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia in Canada and in New York State, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, West Virginia, Louisiana and North Dakota in the United States. During my time in the service sector I operated the equipment and eventually supervised cementing operations, coil tubing operations, fracturing operations, and acidizing operations. I also ran and maintained downhole tools including the Site and Arrow lines and some of the Halliburton packers and bridge plugs. During my time with various E&P companies I have worked both at the wellsite and in Calgary. I have worked on CBM wells in Central Alberta, on both sweet and sour pumping oil wells in Central Alberta and the Brazeau area. I have completed many deep Critical Sour gas wells and worked on both horizontal and vertical wells in the Deep Basin. I have managed projects on both horizontal and vertical wells in the Grande Prairie to Dawson Creek areas. My almost 9 years with Fairborne Energy/Santonia exposed me to a wide variety of wells and job types from the desk in Calgary. I was responsible for government reporting, safety, wellsite reporting, management of supervisors and all of the usual requirements in planning and executing large scale completions and recompletions. My past experience in the service sector has provided with insight into systems and processes I have to use every day in the completions world.
