As a tutor I take a very honest approach to my classes and ensure I 'practice what I preach'. My classes are organised and structured but also enjoyable and energetic. I firmly believe in passing on good tools to students and often demonstrate to students effective ways of breaking down problems, rather than just supplying an answer. For design problems it is often that the A4 sheet or the small desk can be limiting, my classes typically have people out of their seats and trying to put… Show more As a tutor I take a very honest approach to my classes and ensure I 'practice what I preach'. My classes are organised and structured but also enjoyable and energetic. I firmly believe in passing on good tools to students and often demonstrate to students effective ways of breaking down problems, rather than just supplying an answer. For design problems it is often that the A4 sheet or the small desk can be limiting, my classes typically have people out of their seats and trying to put themselves in the customer's shoes. Similarly with professional skills, I spend time with students to help them understand their difficulties with questions - often getting the thinking out of a person's head and onto paper. Lastly, being a tutor also means being a good leader and part of that is creating a space where people are comfortable with making a mistake and asking questions, within my classes, there is often lots of discussion between me and the students, as well as discussion between the students. After graduating, and now during my postgraduate studies, I have worked on motion analysis projects as either a researcher, assistant, or advisor. Initially, undertaking these projects required me to upskill myself quickly in Vicon Nexus and become comfortable with the strengths and limitations of its native marker set, plug-in-gait.
