Safety and quality are critical to the success of an organization’s products or services. My passion lies in the design, implementation and maintenance of safety and quality management systems. I inspire and mentor others to help drive safety and quality for business success and for the public’s safety. I have built and managed safety investigation teams, revamped senior-executive safety boards, aligned a product safety program with FAA and across two joint ventures. I have also contributed to several industry standards groups and on FAA rule-making committees focused on safety management systems (SMS).My experience includes product development, certification, airplane performance, safety investigations, and product liability / risk management.I approach quality assurance as a compliment to proactive safety efforts, where quality is built into processes rather than trying to inspect quality into a product. I have helped implement advanced quality initiatives, including Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), and supported AS9100 Rev.
