I am a Chambers-ranked, dual-qualified (U.S. and UK) attorney who focuses my practice on representing clients in investigations, transactions, and regulatory matters related to economic sanctions, money laundering, international corruption, fraud, export controls, customs, and national security reviews.I have led numerous internal and government initiated investigations involving potential violations of economic sanctions, anti-money laundering laws, anti-bribery laws, fraud laws, and export controls in the United States, Europe, Asia, and Central and South America. I have also represented individuals in pending and threatened litigation.I regularly advise private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies, financial institutions, hedge funds, pharmaceutical companies, medical device manufacturers, oil and gas companies, and international logistics providers on a wide range of compliance issues. I frequently work with clients to develop and implement state-of-the-art compliance programs, including corporate policies, training programs, and third party procedures. I assist clients in carrying out due diligence for many types of corporate transactions. I have successfully guided foreign companies through CFIUS and other national security reviews.I am the author of "Sanctions Enforcement and Compliance: A Practitioner’s Guide to OFAC." Bloomberg Industry Group published the third edition of this treatise in February 2024. In addition, leading legal publications have published more than 35 of my articles.
