I went into family law nearly 30 years ago to make a difference. As the Managing Partner of the Berger Schatz Lake Forest office, my goal is to help families resolve issues cooperatively, so they can move forward positively and embrace the next phase of their lives.I have experience in all areas of family and matrimonial law. My work includes matters involving complex financial issues, corporate valuations, non-marital asset protection, premarital and postmarital agreements, child custody, support and parenting time.I understand that the legal system is not set up to address all of the issues involved when couples divorce. Drawing on my years of experience, I guide couples through the process with creative approaches to help them achieve their goals.My approach is to resolve matters efficiently and to avoid court and incurring unnecessary fees and stress. As a skilled negotiator, I assist clients in reaching favorable settlements without the necessity of trial when possible. When necessary, however, I aggressively represent clients successfully at trials and on appeals.
