Michael is a full time songwriter from Melbourne, Australia. Across 35 years Michael has had a stellar career built around music with many successes in the industry playing in several rock bands in Australia for most of his life. After a break from writing and performing in original bands Michael decided to pursue the desire to become a professional songwriter writing for other artists.Highlights for Michael have been landing his songs “Now I Do”, “Ho Ho Hold My Beer”, “FOMO”, “Townhome”, “Long Shot”, “She’s Gonna Hate Me”, “Good Mama” and "Raised Right" in 2022 and 2023 on the NSAI Top 40 presented by The Bob Kingsley Estate.He was Nashville Songwriters Association International’s New Member of the Year 2020, had 2 songs in the Top 10 for the NSAI 21st Annual Song Contest presented by CMT & Martin Guitars in 2021 and 1 song in the Top 10 for the NSAI 23rd Annual Song Contest, presented by CMT & The Bluebird Cafe. He has also been nominated countless times “one to watch” as a writer on the rise by NSAI and many co-written songs recommended for consideration for NSAI’s Publisher Luncheon.Michael’s songs that have been frequently taken for further consideration at Pitch to Publisher events in Nashville. His co-written songs “Townhome” was a top 12 finalist in the 2022 and "Raised Right" in 2023 for the Tin Pan South Songwriting Seminar song contest. His success has been shown through such achievements as signing a single song contract for co-written song “All Blessed Up” in 2021 and " Head To Mistletoe in 2023.He has had cuts with Nashville Independent country artists Andrew Mack, Austin Daniel and Dave Lenahan, Canadian Country Artists James Downham and Samantha Ava, Top 10 and Number One songs in Australia with Australian country artists Emily Hatton and Sandee Facy.Michael sees his greatest success in the song he wrote called “Stronger Now” for Nicole Mclean, one of the Bali Bombing survivors in 2002. Nicole went on to write a book by the same name and there is a chapter that features the story behind the song and her healing in recording and performing the song Michael wrote.The song was performed by Michael and Nicole at the memorial at Parliament House in Canberra and featured on 60 Minutes Australia.In previous years Michaels original bands have shared the stage with successful musicians from such bands as Toto, Hanson, Eric Martin (Mr Big), Jimmy Barnes, Thirsty Merc, Screaming Jets, Killing Heidi and Taxi Ride, amongst others.With his sights set on relocating to Nashville in 2023, Michael is a songwriter on the rise and one to watch...
