Michael Sample believes children are humanity’s hope for a brighter future, and considers it a great honor and responsibility to invest his energy, research, passion, and productivity into their thriving. He dedicates his career to arts education and social work, collaborating with contributors to the field on a domestic and international level, in order to empower youth through innovative and impactful initiatives and programs. Michael currently serves as the Co-Artistic Director of Inner-City Arts (inner-cityarts.org), a nonprofit arts center in Skid Row downtown Los Angeles which uses the arts to transform the lives of children and youth of the community. Michael spent recent years residing in Ecuador, India, Ghana, and China consulting with nonprofit organizations and developing arts education programs that serve children, youth, and families. He was the founder of Project Creo, a project featured in the UN affiliated publication "Music as a Global Resource: Solutions for Social and Economic Issues." In addition to his international work, Michael has served as a consultant with nonprofits in Los Angeles and New York City.As a choral director and composer, he has served as a clinician with choirs at universities, high schools, and community ensembles around the world. A member of Actors Equity Association and an award-winning actor, Michael has performed in Off-Broadway, regional theater, and TV/Film productions throughout the US, as well as vocal concerts internationally. He also currently volunteers as a crisis counselor for youth.
