Semi retired looking for temporary employment that would interest me

Position on 6th Generation, DP3, Drillship Carolina NS29. Responsible for overseeing safe and economic running of engine room, electrical, rig mechanic and Sub Sea departments. Responsible for organisation of planned and unplanned maintenance for all departments. AMOS M&P. Reporting to Rig Manager ashore. Main engines STX/MAN 32V/40.Thrusters Rolls Royce Azimuth Thrusters UUC 455.Drilling package AKER.Conversant with risk assessment and permit to work systems.

Sailing on a fleet of six purpose built Ro.Ro vessels, the first of which was delivered in August 2002. Four of these vessels are on charter to the British M.O.D. Two are on commercial charter. Spent two months in Flensburg Shipyard (Germany) as part of the new building team for one of the vessels. Main engines MaK M43.Schottel controllable pitch propellers.Responsible for safe operation of all machinery spaces and maintenance through out the vessels. Ensuring compliance with company ISM procedures. Responsible for ordering of spares and monitoring of planned maintenance systems, through AMOS M&P.

Sailing on M.V. European Pathfinder. Main engines Stork Werkspoor (Wartsila) diesel 9TM410. Alternator engines MAK 6 332 AK.Escher Wyss controllable pitch propellers. Overall control of engine room budgeting and accounting.Experience in dry dockings annually for passenger certificate purposes. Experience in special dry dock for addition of stabilisers to the vessel.Responsible for setting up of planned maintenance and safety routine schedules.Responsible for stock control of all engine room spare gear and ordering same.Conversant with I.S.M. codes and procedures.Experience of fighting and extinguishing major vehicle deck fire and subsequent repair work in dry dock. Acting as Environmental Officer aboard the vessel.

(Sailed as Second Engineer on numerous occasions)Vessels served on: Pride of Walmer, European Endeavour, European Seaway, European Highway, European Pathway. Main engines: Stork Werkspoor (Wartsila) 9TM410 & Sulzer Z40.Alternator engines: Allen, MAK & Sulzer. LIPS & Kamewa controllable pitch propellers.Experience of bringing into service three new vessels from the builders yard.

Maintenance, safety and operational checks of anaesthetic machines, oxygen therapy regulators and flowmeters for East Dorset Health Authority.

Vessels served on: Dragon & Viking Venturer.Main engines: Pielstick PC2 6964 KW, Stork Werkspoor 9893 KW.Alternator engines: Duvant & Allen.

Vessel served on: Arco Swale (Suction Dredger) Main engine Ruston 2460 BHP.

Sailing as Fourth Engineer from October 1978 to February 1982, as Third Engineer from February 1982 to June 1985 and Second Engineer from June to December 1985.Vessels served on: M.V.s Earl Godwin, Earl William, Earl Granville, S.S. Maid of Kent and Caledonian Princess. Main engines and auxiliary equipment including: Deutz, M.A.N., Blackstone, Pielstick, Bergen and Allen diesel engines.Denny Brown steam turbines, Babcock and Wilcox boilers. Participated in major dry docking conversion of the Earl Granville, Aalborg Vaerft Denmark January - April 1985.

Main engine; Doxford (slow speed) 15000 BHP.Alternator engines: Ruston.

Qualified as Turner/Fitter in the pumps and compressors division.
