Served as the Interim Executive Director providing overall leadership, management, and strategic direction to the organization in alignment with its mission to uphold the dignity and rights of immigrants through high-quality legal services, advocacy, and education. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Oversaw all organizational operations, ensuring the effective delivery of SFDP’s client-centered legal-aid programs and fostering an inclusive, collaborative culture among staff. Supervised all staff, managing finances, and leading fundraising efforts, including grant writing, donor relations, and cultivating diverse funding streams to maintain financial health. Represented SFDP in public forums and advocacy coalitions, building and sustaining relationships with community partners, government agencies, and other stakeholders to advance pro-immigrant policies and systemic change. Exhibited a commitment to the organization’s values of dignity, equity, abolition, and liberation is essential, alongside proven experience in nonprofit leadership, team management, and fundraising. This role required exceptional communication skills and a strategic approach to navigating the legal, ethical, and operational responsibilities necessary to strengthen the organization and its impact.

Santa Fe Dreamers Project provides free legal services to immigrants to promote economic empowerment, community development, family unity, and liberation from detention. Our work is centered around the belief that supporting immigrants makes our whole community stronger. We are committed to representing every qualified immigrant who walks through our doors, to using service strategies that expand vulnerable peoples’ access to legal counsel, and helping to elevate the voices and narratives of immigrants in our community to support positive reform.

Designed and managed programs for disenfranchised youth, with a focus on education and job training in the fields of construction, culinary arts, healthcare, and environmental conservation/restoration. Managed a ten person staff of teachers, counselors, job-trainers, case managers, and field supervisors that served an average of 1200 clients a year. Designed and implemented systems for effective program and logistics management. Secured and managed a variety of grants and contracts from federal, state, municipal and private sources for an average annual budget of $1.2 million.

Designed culturally relevant academic programs which could adapt to the variety of learning styles, skills and needs.Taught English- and Spanish-speaking students in a variety of subjects in preparation for the G.E.D. exam and college readiness. Managed staff including teachers, and volunteer tutors.

Taught dual-enrollment classes in Environmental Science at Capital High School. Juniors and seniors enrolled in the class receive both college and high school credit.

Lead teams of academic tutors in public middle and high schools. AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is a college readiness program targeting underachieving students in public schools, providing them with small group tutoring and leadership activities to help them become more successful.
