My educational background does not seem to have any bearing on what I do now. My academic years pre-2004 logically place me in the usual dichotomous career trajectory of scientists - either to be in the academe, or industrial R&D. But through the numerous learning opportunities that came my way, one thing I became increasingly aware of, was my strong instinct to build, to found, to establish something - be it a new system of doing something better, a new business, a new venture. On my 7th year tending a business, it's safe to say that it's the previously unidentifiable entrepreneurial instinct that eventually took over and made me do the radical jump from universities to a business venture. In the run-up to my career change, it is my seemingly disconnected academic background I have to thank as the supreme confidence booster that precipitated THE career change. It all makes sense.... now. (year 2011)
