Elevated the Central Machine Shop from an underutilized facility to a core part of the engineering curriculum. Consulted with engineering deans and faculty for curriculum considerations to further the education of engineering students in manufacturing technology.Played an integral role in the design, fabrication and management of faculty and student projects including Fulbright and Menschel Award-winning projects.Worked with outside firms to procure material and financial donations to improve shop facilities.Maintained a safe environment for students to work in. Stayed in compliance with OSHA and FDNY standards for workplace safety, and maintained a perfect safety record.Consulted with Star Research Foundation regarding design and viability of outside engineering projects.My primary role at Cooper Union was to provide a safe and clean working environment for the engineering students at the school and to train those students in the safe use of the machinery available. Beyond that, I was responsible for teaching basic and advanced machining, fabrication and design skills. These include, CNC and manual mills, lathes and drills, programming, CAM, CAD, drafting, TIG welding, fiberglass and carbon composites, sheet metal, carpentry, machine design, metalurgy, materials sourcing and purchasing. Projects that were made under my supervision ranged from a Formula SAE race car, to a 20' steel bridge, to an autonomous robot, to a trebuchet.
