I started my career in construction in 1983 working as a general laborer for Granite Construction in Sparks Nevada. By 1985 I worked my way up from a general laborer to a laborer foreman. 1983 to 2003 I worked as either a labor or labor foreman on various projects for Caltrans, Nevada DOT, Wyoming DOT, Sacramento Light Rail, City and County. In 2003 I got my class A general engineering Contractor license. Shortly thereafter I was hired as a paving foreman/superintendent for Martin Brothers Construction. In this position I scheduled, supervised and coordinated materials, subcontractors, labor, and equipment on all Martin Brothers Construction paving projects which continued till 2012. 2012 to 2015 I worked for Skanska Civil West on a 10 mile Valley Transit Authority rail extension project from Fremont to San Jose. On this project I was a utilities superintendent, scheduling and coordinating materials, labor and equipment for 3 underground utilities crews relocating communication, storm water, sewer, and water. 2015 to 2019 I worked as a Safety officer, Contractor Quality control Manager (CQCM) and Qualified stormwater practitioner (QSP) on various Caltrans, USACE and Federal Highway projects in Northern and Southern California. 2019 to present I've been working on various levee improvement projects in northern California as a Contractor quality control Manager (CQCM) for various contractors working USACE contracts.
