Director Of Sport
CurrentKey Responsibilities: • To develop plans and proposals for all sports and PE over time• To be responsible for planning and monitoring a sports programme of excellence• To raise the profile of sport across the whole school• To develop the sporting skills and talents of all the boys across the school• To encourage and lead an appropriate sporting ethos amongst the staff and pupils• To liaise closely with colleagues at Senior Schools and preparing pupils for Sports Scholarships• To provide comprehensive INSET opportunities for the department, ensuring that all colleagues are equipped with up to date and relevant information. • To Chair departmental meetings to ensure that they are used effectively to review performance and actions are recorded and implemented. • To develop links with outside organisations and bodies such as IAPS & ISFA • To identify and collate the future resourcing needs and aspirations for the department, for consideration in the school budget planning process. • To oversee all Trips, Tours and Holiday courses relating to the Sports Department. • To monitor teachers and coaches’ practice in the department and advise strategies for further development.• To be responsible as line manager for the Masters i/c Football, Rugby & Cricket, and Head of PE • To oversee the recruitment of Sports Coaches (Football, Rugby & Cricket) and Sports Assistants. • To be a member of the Health & Safety Committee and the Marketing and Communications Committee. • To ensure that a balanced and board fixture list is in place for both the major (Football, Rugby, Cricket) and minor (Athletics, Cross Country, Skiing & Tennis) sports.
