Michael helped found and develop a marine product manufacturing facility in Central America with an unique factory-direct distribution system providing service, engineering, quality and speed consistent with domestic operations, but at China pricing. GMS DS produced an extensive line of standard and custom ladders, rails, anchor rollers, steering wheels, seat frames and vents.

Schmitt & Ongaro Marine ProductsSchmitt and Ongaro Marine Products was a leading supplier of marine products from concept design to production. Michael oversaw all sales and business development functions and was instrumental in new product and partnership development . His responsibilities also included key account management, contract negotiations and the oversight of manufacturers representatives located throughout North America and Europe. Selected Achievements:• Personally sourced and negotiated a difficult strategic acquisition of the Ongaro Marine Products Company with creative deal making significantly improving company profitability.• Established joint-venture with Italian supplier OBA, forming a joint-venture, “Stella Inc”, which created an Italian designed product line, manufactured wholly in China at a dramatic industry changing discount price point. set up an exclusive distribution agreement with Kingsville Plastics, which previously supplied a proprietary product line to our largest competitor.• Actively recruited and hired a seasoned industry sales executives to strategically grow sales in with new product lines.• Sourced and negotiated an exclusive North American distribution agreement with O.B.A tradizone futura of Italy, an industry leader in innovation, design and manufacture of Italian marine and automotive OEM Components.
