21 Years Engineering, with experience in geotechnical, civil, mechanical, facilities, safety, and environmental. My most rewarding work was as a District Energy Engineer in Lansing, where I was responsible for planning, budgeting, design, bidding, project management, and records keeping primarily for steam. It was a very unique environment where I had to meet and earn the trust of our customers as well as ROW owners and other utility operators in the ROW. Without a doubt the most enjoyable was the relationships I forged within my own department and the collaborative and creative solutions we developed for complex problems. Among some of the most memorable was pioneering the use of GFRP reinforcement in concrete, deploying low-cost cellular based distribution monitoring, leveraging existing water meter technology to increase the frequency and reliability of steam meter reads, procurement and development of the steam distribution model, development of steams standards, and reconstruction of major areas of the steam distribution network including mains, vaults, and regulator stations.Looking for a new challenge and a chance to expand my experience, in 2023 I took on the role of environmental engineer at the BWL. In this capacity, I am responsible for waste disposals, including hazardous waste, the BWL SESC program, employee training, site compliance audits, development and maintenance of SPCC/PIPP plans, SARA Title III reporting and TRI reporting.
