THE PRAIRIE CLEAN ENERGY STORY​Prairie Clean Energy was launched in 2020 out of the pursuit for an environmentally sustainable solution to agricultural waste. After years of seeing acres of flax straw being burned near his home in rural Saskatchewan, founder Trevor Thomas knew he had discovered a solution to the global wood shortfall – a solution that also provided farmers with an economical and environmentally-conscious way to use flax straw waste.After researching the potential of flax straw as a fuel source, Trevor established Prairie Clean Energy to bridge the gap between flax farmers and those seeking clean, reliable biomass fuel and other high-value products. Since then, Prairie Clean Energy has grown into a fully realized aggregation and processing business that has built partnerships with farmers and organizations across Canada and the world to deliver high-quality flax straw products to customers across the world.
