Currently, I lead an effective and diverse IT team in complementing Kleinschmidt's growth and expansion. The firm has approximately 200 staff and 12 offices across the US and Canada. Technology plays a key role in fostering communication, collaboration, and connection amongst our employees who have been navigating this new work environment. We are pressing forward and empowering our staff to perform their best work by leveraging our technology platforms. My experience from all levels of IT has provided me with a holistic view for solving IT issues and introducing technology to close gaps and streamline processes. I provide direction on the team’s responsibilities such as cloud connectivity and services, storage, modern computer management, security, and simply providing a safe and effective environment for our staff. We have increased our cloud investments while remaining secure, which has proven to be effective and reflects the company vision of working from anywhere. Identifying the strengths and weaknesses of the team has been a crucial piece toward our perpetual goal of improving service and leaving the most positive impression with the staff and firm.Turning IT resources into a tool that can leverage the firm's best skills is critical in today’s environment, and internal stakeholder engagement is a large part of that. The IT Manager role at Outside Van is a new position transitioning away from a 3rd party IT services company to an internal resource. This scenario has left the company with many opportunities to improve IT services and leverage it to help the company move towards achieving new goals. My responsibilities covered the spectrum of the IT field and utilizes all the skills that I’ve gathered over my career. Items I’m responsible for range from helpdesk support, hardware and software support, VMWare virtual infrastructure, Meraki network, Office 365 and Azure, full stack backup and more. As part of the leadership team I'm finding creative ways to make IT process more efficient and smarter.Outside Van utilizes VMware ESXi to host Microsoft Servers and Active Directory, our end users use Microsoft Windows 10, Apple OSX, and I support applications like Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Creative Cloud, SolidWorks, Quickbooks, and more. The company structure has allowed me to empower and give tools to employees to help do their jobs better. I've found that connecting with staff and co-workers to understand their challenges and working together to purpose and implement solutions is an effective way to achieve business goals. I believe clear communication, intent and vision is critical to get the most out of each employee and to drive the business in the right direction.

This role is a progression of the two previous positions. The company has 7 IT staff supporting 15 offices and about 350 staff. I offered extensive guidance on the direction of the IT group in the company and have worked with stakeholders to complete projects large and small.Main Responsibilities:-Management and mentoring of 2 direct staff members-Management of Helpdesk team for 350+ users company wide-Project leadership for SharePoint Migration, virtual desktop development, and server virtualization-External vendor communication: DELL, CDW, VMWare, etc.-Internal project management communication with a variety of stakeholders-Architect full datacenter from top to bottom with failover capacities. -Implemented full VDI solution for the most challenging graphics users utilizing Dell VxRail and nVidia graphics cards. -Managed and architected iSCSI storage for virtual infrastructure to ensure speed, reliability and capacity.-Server virtualization using VMWare in the central office with colocation setup and management-Infrastructure development with priority on security, reliability and flexibility-Lead spokesman for virtual desktop infrastructure deployment using VMWare Horizon View-Designed full cloud disaster recovery system utilizing VMWare Site Recovery Manager to ensure high uptime of production workloads.-Work closely with department leads to achieve technical objectives and improve the employee experience. The outcome left employees working on what they do best rather than dealing or working around technical deficiencies.

In the Helpdesk Manager role I developed leadership skills while continuing to progress and hone my technical skills. I had the opportunity to setup and manage a Helpdesk ticketing system for the growing team to better manage and track workload across the team. I still continued responsibilities that were covered in my previous role while taking on new ones.

Provided IT support across the company on a wide array of topics like helpdesk issues, configuring server and desktop backups, building servers, and troubleshooting any issue that arose. The wearer of many hats brought me exposure to new fields in IT and provided me the foundation to continue expanding my skill set in the IT field. One of my interests became server virtualization and I setup our first VMWare ESX host at the company.
