The Knit Crowd is the spin off from The Crochet Crowd. In recent years, the demand for myself to host tutorials for knitting has increased. We've learned that crocheters and knitters like to play in their own sandboxes. They speak their own lingo and have different project goals. The Knit Crowd, complete full circle of tutorials, articles and dedicated social spaces allows knitters to be encompassed by the craft. I am learning to knit as I go. As I learn lessons, I share those lessons forward. Being sponsored by Yarnspirations, I am making it a personal challenge to try some of the latest knitting patterns to expand my skills. My mentors are the customer service team at Yarnspirations plus some local friends.

My role is to provide free consumer education and resources for crocheters. The Crochet Crowd® works independently of Yarnspirations but collaborates occasionally on fun projects and campaigns together. With working with Yarnspirations, I'm allowed to keep my own voice and opinions just like a magazine editor. Forms of my educational content are written articles, educational video tutorials, social media, community leading and create fun campaigns to engage crocheters to expand their skills and further the enjoyment of crochet.Yarnspirations is controlled by Spinrite LP.

Spinrite Factory Outlet is my viewer meeting space once per month. Together with Spinrite, I social network through newsletters and video content about their location. I coordinate with store manager live events at the store to create a day of yarn celebration through free creative workshops. This monthly event is known as Mikey's Playground.

Along with Daniel Zondervan, we are the producers and on-board hosts of the Crochet Cruises. A subsidiary of The Crochet Crowd®. Each year, we hold several crochet cruises in various locations in North America. Featuring a 7 day cruise with crochet workshops help on board. Passengers for our cruise event sign up nearly 1 year in advance. In compliance to the Ontario Tourism Laws, we produce the Crochet Cruises. We work directly with an authorized travel agent that handles ticket sales and communications with all parties which include cruise line, hotels and private excursion parties. While on board, we teach between 5 - 7 workshops and have many informal get stitch & bi#$^ sessions. Many of our crocheters bring with them family and friends that don't necessarily take part in our activities but come along. With our Crochet Cruises, our crocheters report in for designated workshops throughout the week. While we are docked in destinations, we don't conduct any workshops on the ship so our guests can explore and sample the exotic location for the day. We officially started in March 2013 with our first two cruises in February 2014. To date, we have successfully run 8 Crochet Cruises. Next 2 Cruises are in the Caribbean 2017, Southern Caribbean 2018 and Alaska 2018. We get approximately 100 crocheters plus family members per sailing.

An interactive digital b-monthly magazine for crocheters. Our mission:"For the everyday crocheter, by featuring you, the everyday crocheter."With the overwhelming success and social interaction of The Crochet Crowd, our weekly newsletter has evolved into a weekly magazine where we can feature 30 - 50 crocheters in an edition. With lots of show & tell and examples of what people are crocheting within real time and stories to share. Daniel Zondervan, Managing Partner, is in charge of themes, content organizing, layout, advertising and overall design for each weekly edition. This magazine is free to all who are interested in receiving it. We currently have 60,000 downloads per week of our magazine. This is a subsidiary of The Crochet Crowd®.

The International Showcase Associates is known to the public as Creativ Festival. It is one of Canada's top producing bi-annual shows featuring creative artists, manufacturers and retailers. It is combined with hands on demonstrations, conference programs and much more.The spring show is held at the International Centre in Mississauga Ontario Canada. The fall show is held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, South Building.I was brought on by Creativ Festival in the Spring of 2012 to evaluate and implement changes to the social media program. Using skills I had already known, in 30 days I as able to bring Creativ Festival back online and start moving forward with social media to test it out for the spring 2012 show. It was the first attempt to try social media outside of the world of The Crochet Crowd and proved to be very successful. My role is to educate consumers to the activities and events that occur at Creativ Festival. I monitor the social media platforms as well as research & interact with exhibitors / teachers behind the scenes to gather data. As of November 2015, Creativ Festival has changed ownership and my role as consulting for Social Media has finished.

These yarns are assorted brands such as James C Brett, My Mountain and many more.Our mission, at The Crochet Crowd, is to provide fun projects in the form of video tutorials to crochet along with. These types of yarns are not found in the major retailers but more in the independent retailer market... essentially, your 'mom and pop' yarn shops. These yarns are typically considered to be a higher end product but the yarns usually cannot be compared to massive yarn manufacturers. There are so many great yarn brands on the market that go beyond the massive big box retailer. We will be exploring these brands in tutorial content for 2014. We look forward to an exciting year of yarn diversity within The Crochet Crowd.

Coats & Clark are the manufacturer's and distributors of Red Heart Yarns. These yarns appear in massive retailers and independent yarn shops across North America. Coats & Clark are featuring myself (as Mikey from The Crochet Crowd) as a video host helping to teach their customers on how to use products, showcase brand new products and step by step video instructions for projects. This is an ongoing contract that involves cross promotion of social media and opportunities of using free patterns to educate consumers.

I provide content in the form of article writing and 'Howto' videos to select few crafting industry related businesses. Through content article writing, promoting physical products and helping behind the scenes of internet social media to help establish higher results by adjusting parameters and re-strategizing promotional opportunities. I provide content for a number of their websites and blog for their two major blog sites.In March 2013, my role with Prime Publishing has changed to strictly being a content contributor of sharing my patterns to selected websites within their realm.

Establish River's Edge's internet presence which includes website develop and social media outlets. Daniel Zondervan, my partner, is the lead project manager for this launch and is under my direction paving a new path for River's Edge. Using skills developed through The Crochet Crowd research, human behavior and SEO practices, we are able to propel their web presence with this newly developed company. In just 2 months, we were able to surpass all surrounding competitors for this client and continue to develop new strategies. We have taken a company that has been in fear of social media and opening up new avenues and opportunities they never expected to see. This contract is subject to seasonal work. Our goal is to help them launch their social media and development so they may take it over themselves to maintain. With anything in social media, marketing or advertising, there is never any guarantees. This is a short term contract for The Crochet Crowd to kick start this local business.

Job was downsized due to internet ordering becoming a new feature for the courier company.
