Vp Produce Ops/Procurement
Current- Oversee billion-dollar-plus annually in produce sales and operations ($1.7 billion for 2018) for the largest wholesale grocery supply company in the United States, with a total revenue of $27+ billion; maintain profitability with increasingly limited resources; meet or exceed weekly gross profit goals of 3% to 4%.- Manage turn procurement with a team of Turn Buyers, who work with national buyers; hire, train, supervise, develop, and evaluate a team of 17 staff; ensure that all products are procured to customer specifications and delivered on time.- Oversee the inspection and quality control of multiple distribution centers used for produce purchased or imported directly from sources.- Conduct organizational and spending analysis of customer retail grocers, from specialty stores to major chains such as Stop & Shop, Foodtown, and Southeastern Grocers, in order to develop strategies for stable operational growth; calculate ROIs on company acquisitions; mitigate issues around procurement, ad performance.- Collaborate with multiple departments to enhance systems, processes, forecasting, etc.; for example, worked on Buying Tool project to create daily data downloads for Buying Team to more accurately forecast which locations will produce better service levels and reduce product shrink.
