Just do it. Or do you want to spend your life wondering: What if?This thought became the foundation of my journey. During my PhD, I explored the historical dimensions of how cities have evolved and realized that many of the challenges we face today aren’t new. These issues have been with us since the first cities emerged 10.000 years ago. Whether it’s managing space or movement, the core struggles remain remarkably similar. It’s a reminder that while technology progresses, the fundamental questions about how we live and move in urban areas have always been part of the human experience.That’s when I knew this was something I had to pursue—but not alone. Together with my incredible partners, Markus Schwingel, Tobias Frei, Daniel Engelberger, we took the leap and founded the Mobility Transformation GmbH. Our shared vision is to help our customers navigate the transformation process that comes with the mobility revolution. This vision also influenced my PhD, which focuses on how mobility concepts impact human behavior and how they can be implemented effectively. During my time at the University of St. Gallen, I was also Program Manager for the Executive Program CAS Smart Mobility Management. In this role, we built one of the largest active mobility networks in the DACH region.Out of this research, Lukas Neckermann and I co-founded the Urban Places Lab. A research lab dedicated to exploring and implementing solutions to make cities more efficient, sustainable, and livable. I worked with leading German automotive manufacturers and the Austrian supply industry, leading projects across Europe, the USA, and China. I studied Mechanical and Business Engineering at the Technical University of Graz, Austria, and pursued a Automotive Engineering degree at Tongji University, Shanghai, China. These experiences have shaped my understanding of global mobility challenges—and the solutions we need.Looking back, there were countless moments when I questioned everything—should I take the risk? What if it doesn’t work out? In the end, taking the leap has always opened doors to even greater opportunities.Today, our clients range from major corporations to smaller mobility initiatives, primarily in Switzerland, Germany and Austria; but also beyond.
