Promotional /Technical Copywriter hired on a contract basis. Composed Business Procedures Compliance documents for data base engagement, operation and updating. Edited and updated procedure documents for inclusion in an ongoing Employees Handbook. Composed and produced benefit-based new product copy and required technical copy for three separate retail catalogs. Work was performed was off site on a telecommute basis. Compiled new product offerings for inclusion into a yearly updated catalog index from 2009 to 2014.

Assisted my clients and provided outstanding service for all of their Commercial Real Estate needs. Specialized in consultation and sales assistance for clients looking to add to their commercial portfolio or acquire their first residential income property.

Provided oversight management for a family trust. All of the trust's assets were held in income-producing commercial real estate. Travelled bi-monthly to conduct property inspections and engage with on-site management. Advised trustees on required compliance with state and local regulations pertaining to mobile home park ownership and management. Oversaw maintenance and construction contracts.

At Airgun Epxress I got to run the whole shebang for an absentee owner. I did it all from the creation and implementation of our Marketing push, Website content update, Operations governance to making sure the shipping docks were cleared of snow. I even created a new employee handbook and published their first marketing catalog. I was so successful in ramping up the marketing for this company and increasing sales that after only three years the absentee owner was able to sell out to the competition and make a hefty profit doing so. Of course all of the employees, including myself were then quite out of a job. I learned a valuable lesson though; learn as much as you can about the person you are going to work for.

Planed and directed the typesetting, digital graphic layout and printing of a 450+ page, vertical market, mail order catalog that’s delivered to approximately 300,000 world-wide customers. Managed eight employees including public relations personnel, copywriters, typesetters, catalog supervisor, graphic artist and Webmaster. Senior editor for all new-product copy, advertising copy, promotional program copy, customer contacts and in-house publications, which included labels, new product instructions and newsletters. Composed and edited technical articles for two, separate promotional newsletters that were mailed four times per year.Supervised the maintenance of updates to a database-driven, interactive website. Also composed all promotional and content copy for that website. Attended industry-wide public relations conferences and professional industry shows, displayed new product offerings and services.

Responsibilities and Accomplishments:Established an intradepartmental database to track and record new suppliers and new products. The database streamlined and simplified the new product selection and research process. Cut a full two months from the new product selection process that involves ten, full-time salaried employees. Increased the number of yearly new products from approximately one hundred to six hundred. New products included in the catalog represented a full 27% of all sales. This inclusion of more, new products helped fuel a 9.8% yearly increase in sales since 1994.Expanded marketing and public relations contacts by instituting sponsorship and promotional attendance at nationally recognized shooting events and firearms industry trade shows. Coordinated and organized company attendance at these events. This helped build an industry-wide list of contacts that in turn referred suppliers of new products to us for inclusion into our catalog. Implemented programs that placed emphasis on active customer recruitment and database mining. Both programs helped increase overall catalog distribution by 20.1% from 134,000 in 1994 to 175,000 in 2000.Wrote all new-product, catalog copy and instructional copy for proprietary house products. Expanded and modernized the style of copy to delete much of the out of date, missionary-style copy to the newer, benefit-style copy that appeals to current buyers.
