Attended South Lanarkshire College graduating in 2022 with an HND Social Sciences. This was a great course to help with communication skills, writing skills and research. This course helps me to pursue a career in politics or charity work. I learned a lot about the politics process in UK and how it works and how society as a whole works. Sociology and Psychology were a couple of the topics on my course which contributed to understanding people .During College in 2018 I was also a class representative.Along side my studies I volunteered in an Oxfam shop which helped me to deal with members of the public, stock taking, merchandising and opening/closing the premises. I received a certificate for my service and attendance . I also also volunteer to help out in the last Scottish parliament elections. I undertook door to door canvassing, talking to members of the public and delivering leaflets - this activity was confidence and character building. I was also a volunteer campaign manager for one of the candidate for the Scottish liberal democrats in my area for that year's council elections and stood myself as a paper candidate. I am also a member of the Glasgow Youth Council since 2018 which has been great being able to make new friends and help Glasgow's young people and ran my own campaign for the Scottish Youth Parliament. I was also deputy campaigns officer in the Glasgow Youth Council for five months in 2020 when I helped out in many campaign like our manifesto campaign launch where we spoke to Glasgow young people about issues that they face.In my spare time I run for Giffnock North AC and have been a member of the club since 2016. I really enjoy it because of the social aspect getting to meet new people. Running at Giffnock North has developed discipline and commitment as well as camaraderie. Since I went to the club my running has improved significantly and I now compete in races for the club and have achieved personal best times in the 10k and 5k distances. I usually run the Great Scottish Run either the 10k or half marathon for MS Revive charity and have raised lots of money over the years. Previously I ran for the QEUH children's ward and also ran this year for the MND charity. The reason I run for Multiple Sclerosis charities is because my dad has suffered the illness for a good number of years and I support my mum in caring duty for my dad. I took a year out this past year from 3rd year Politics degree course at UWS to focus on this but he now has extra support and I would like to now transfer my skills and experience to the workplace.
