I was originally hired to assist with further development on existing VB.NET based Windows applications. I later progressed into building REST based web services to provide backend links between database server and tablet applications communicating over facility based WiFi. I became proficient in the use of Microsoft Visual Studio, SQL Server, SQL Server Profiler, IIS, Eclipse, and Fiddler diagnostic tools. I transitioned quickly and effectively into Java based development targeting Android based tablets.- I modified existing or added new functionality to VB.NET desktop based applications.- I modified existing or created new Windows based services that supplemented desktop based applications.- I helped implement REST style web services in C# utilizing LINQ to SQL.- I improved upon the user experience by developing java based applications targeting the Android Operating System. This helped allow the business to replace obsolete Pocket PC platforms with new Samsung Galaxy tablets.- I was made accountable for the rollout of new Java based tablet applications which included the installation and configuration of REST Web Services on client server and standalone computer systems.- I instructed environmental service managers on how to install and use the new tablet applications. This reduced calls to first level support. The overall result was to gain back development time which otherwise was lost due to support responsibilities.- I played a significant role in providing online support to facility service managers that covered all application software written by our department, both new and legacy.
