As part of an outsourcing project by AIB I transferred over to Infosys as a Senior Software Engineer on the 1st November 2015. Responsible for business and technical knowledge transfer of the associated projects/architecture to the new partner. Mentoring and training of the ‘landed’ developers.Identify gaps in team knowledge and address through on job training.

Working within an agile development team, delivering regulatory and business requested changes on a mortgage application system. Working with tools such as spring, websphere, jasper reports, soapUI, git, JIRA, tomcat and junit. In 2015 we delivered 9 major releases into production and firmed up our quality of delivery by introducing mandatory code reviews prior to merging and changes into the master branch.

Performed the role of system test lead. Responsible for: Creating and executing test scripts and test plans.  Reporting on project status and providing metrics. Reviewing project documentation. Co-ordinating offshore testing.I have also taken the responsibility of test manager on several small to medium projects. This increased my responsibilities to include all test phases to ensure that the correct templates and processes were used and adhered to. During my time at AIB I have worked on various projects that have included: Mortgage Application Systems; Branch Banking Systems; Document Management Systems; Anti Money Laundering; Internet Banking.

IT Consultant, responsible for: Representing the company on client sites. Advising and providing system testing solutions.

Responsible for the operational monitoring and management of media related workloads, along with the secure dispatching of media to third party companies. Responsible for media throughout the organisation, and utilising a variety of tools such as TBSM, MAXM, SMM, TSO, UNIX, AS400 and Netview to maintain a reliable and resilient media infrastructure.

Responsible for representing the company on client sites, providing clients with system testing solutions (manual and automated). The position required flexibility as often working locations changed (client sites, head office and home) with this so did the working practices. Produced various documentation from internal procedures, functional specifications to software user manuals.

Contracted for system, interface and user acceptance testing of a global treasury management solution. Responsible for creating and running test scripts for all aspects of foreign exchange and money market trading (front, middle and back office functionality). Reporting into the test team manager and interacting with the development teams, business support team, the business users and project management team.

Responsible for regression testing, creating and running test scripts for new functionality of treasury back office straight through processing systems. Testing was primarily manual user testing for new functionality and automated testing tools were used for regression testing. I was often assigned to a product group, which would consist of a product manager, development team leader, four developers and two system testers. Other responsibilities included providing assistance to the support desk on product related problems.

The system security department started as a small team of the system security manager and myself. The team and the duties we performed were recognised to be of such importance that the team rapidly grew to eight members. Duties include, testing new systems, static data control, ensuring the company guidelines were followed in respect of system security. Due to our business and system knowledge we were involved in system implementations at all stages. Also responsible for the management of business contingency and disaster recovery plans.

Dealing with day-to-day staffing issues of a team of five permanent staff and two temporary agency staff. Reporting on volumes and values of payment traffic. The department was responsible for the authenticity and correct routing of foreign exchange, money market, options, commercial and public payments. Other personal projects involved performing interface testing on a system for pre-advice of drafts and testing a payment routing system. Also took part in user acceptance testing on new payment software packages, designed business contingency / disaster recovery plans for direct credit / debit and payment systems. Reported directly into the Head of Treasury Operations.

Responsible for the daily processing of all international and domestic payments via SWIFT, telex, direct credit / debit and electronic funds transfer systems. Performed regression testing on the new releases of MINT UK’s message handling system. Lead the internal information technology, testing department in regression testing new releases of payment systems. Performed training on payment systems to members of staff. Took part in recruiting new staff including leading interviews.
