In late 2016 I was hired by Swamp Cats to join their team as a health and safety advisor for the OSE winter program at Cenovus Christina Lake. During that time I looked after multiple pad constructions, ice road & lease builds, brushing and clearing and pit reclamations. I also worked a large amount with the pipeline and completions group. New construction within the plant and live facilities. After the winter work was completed, I remained as an employee of Swamp Cats and have worked on multiple sites but mainly MEG Energy & Cenovus Christina Lake. My roll with the company allows for a wide variety of duties some of which being FLHA Spot checks, PPE verification & supply ordering, Site inspections/Hazard assessment, Equipment inspections, Incident investigation and root cause analysis with corrective action assessment, Data entry, Daily toolbox, Weekly & Monthly meetings, ERP & JHA development for new job packages, Policy and procedure review & update, Safe starts, attend and present stewardship meeting information to client & Much more. Due to my pervious experience in the oil field and construction industry I have became an asset to the company.

I was hired by M&N Energy to begin a project where underground 48” tube storage facilities were to be exposed for the purpose of inspecting, cleaning & pigging at the Pembina Red Water Facility North of Fort Saskatchewan. I was hired to be the field safety supervisor and began with ensuring all operators, laborer’s, foreman’s & any personnel had necessary tickets and orientations to gain access to the site. The day to day operations were to complete FLHA’s, Chair morning toolbox meetings, Bump test and record H2S monitors, Site inspections, Complete safe work practices for certain tasks, Create ERP for site, Ensure compliance with client standards. I also assisted with organizing equipment rentals pick up, drop off & escorting to site for delivery. After job began running smoothly, I was tasked with assisting with another project at the IPL Heartland Petrochemical complex where M&N was to complete some tie ins to a plant in the same area. I held and completed Toolbox, Daily FLHA, Stats for the client, Bi-Weekly Safety meetings with client. Development of JSA, SWP, ERP, Traffic control plans were also completed. The work scope was similar as there was excavation and equipment operation but on a larger scale and due to the large amount of existing lines more parties were involved as encroachment procedures needed to be developed and other line representatives present. I also assisted with ordering & pick up of necessary supplies to complete the task.

Christina Lake

In December 2015 I began working with the Drilling & Completions Health & Safety team as one of there field advisors. My role has so far consisted of attending safety meetings and providing topics and information, performing rig and site inspections, spot checks, snap shots. I also perform incident investigations, hazard ID classification and documentation. I also assist with man down drills and assist well site consultants with all things pertaining to health and safety to ensure team effort is achieved.

Resthaven Pipeline Project

Oversee multiple sites like Ditching/ Lay in crews, Blasting, Coating, Boring rigs, Stringing/ Welding, Tie in's/ Repairs, Shading & Back fill and much more during the construction of the 29 KM pipeline install. Work together with formans and supervisors to ensure paperwork is completed correctly. Perform site inspections, daily reports, incident reports. Work together with security and medics to ensure zero tolerance for drugs and alcohol was reached. Look after pipeline tie in to pembina's resthaven plant including all bolt up crews

Kakwa River Midwest Camp Project

Over saw the construction of a 300 man camp for Midwest pipeline.

Onsite HSE support during the processes of drilling a well to be used for a ethylene storage cavern. My activities included issue Safe work permits, hold safety meetings, Review & assist with FLHA completion, generate safety stats, review all safety documentation handed in, site inspection, incident investigation, spill reports, daily completion reports, Site orientations, escort contractors, provide support to drilling staff & much more.

Inspect all camps that were operational.

Perform an external audit which resulted in the company receiving there Certificate of recognition.
